4th of July: Patriotic Cupcakes
This recipe is for “Patriotic Red Velvet Cupcakes.”
They are a quick and easy patriotic dessert to make for your July 4th celebration!
It starts with a boxed cake mix and then a quick and easy homemade cream cheese icing. Top them off with some festive red, white, and blue sprinkles for a showstopper dessert.
We are so blessed to live in a country where we are
free, and we honor those that have sacrificed so much that we can be free. I truly hope
everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Patriotic Red Velvet Cupcakes
Ingredients:
1 - box Red Velvet Cake mix
I - small bottle of patriotic sprinkles
24- cupcake liners
Directions:
Prepare cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes filling the liners about 2/3rds full.
Bake as directed on box, and let cool to room temperature.
Prepare icing recipe below and spread on cupcakes.
Sprinkle with patriotic sprinkles.
Cream Cheese Icing Ingredients:
½ cup butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions:
Beat softened butter and cream cheese until blended.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla.Beat until creamy. If it is too thick you can add a tablespoon of milk as needed.
