Easy Easter Treat

Easter is just a few days away, and it is a time of the year when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even though we may not be able to gather as a group to worship and enjoy a meal together, we can still observe these festivities in our homes.

The recipe below for “Carrot Chocolate Covered Strawberries,” is a great way to get the kids in the kitchen to spend time together as a family. The kids will love to dip the strawberries in the orange candy melts and drizzle them with the icing.

To dip the strawberries, you use the same technique as you would regular chocolate covered strawberries, but with orange candy melts.

Not only do these Easter treats taste great, (who doesn’t love chocolate covered strawberries!?!), they look festive as well! You can enjoy the orange coated strawberries plain, but the pudding cups make them a more elaborate treat as a centerpiece for your Easter dessert table.

(Carrot Strawberries) 10-12 – large Strawberries, rinsed and drained. 1 - bag of orange candy melts (available at Hobby Lobby) Parchment paper (Carrot pudding cups) 10-12 - Clear cups 1 bag of regular Oreos, crushed 1 large box of chocolate instant pudding & pie filling 3 - cups of milk

Directions:

  1. Rinse strawberries and place on paper towel to dry. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  6. Make pudding as directed on box. Pour pudding into cups over crushed Oreo's. Top with more crushed Oreo's.

  7. Place strawberry in center of each cup.

  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
